Sports center De Sypel, Harderwijk
4.170 m² GFA
June 2009 – May 2012
The revitalization of the Sypel in Harderwijk consists of the construction of a second sports hall with changing facilities, an additional volume for ROC Landstede with study rooms and a new entrance area with a catering facility and multipurpose room. Thanks to the strategically placed new volumes the complex gets a new look.
The new facade has a transparent and inviting character due to the glazed curtain wall and the large overhang, which marks the entrance of the complex. The neutral materialization of the exterior (brick and anthracite) is continued in the interior of the sports hall, where wood and grey tones are combined. Several large windows and doors open up to the sunbathing lawn and generate a pleasant sports environment, which is equipped for a variety of sports activities.
